Thanks to Netflix, I’m on a bit of a British sitcom kick…
Green Wing: It could somewhat be described as the British “Scrubs.” Except much more proper and raunchy at the same time. And makes ample use of the words “twat” and “wanker.” Plus the sexual tension between Dr. Caroline and Guy and Mac makes it both cringe-worthy and oh-so juicy.
More than that, it’s just plain hilarious. There are several characters who are straight-up crazy. Also, there’s a character named Harriet who is constantly pregnant and loses track of her kids. All. the. time.
“I know I took three morning-after pills to try and flush him out, but doesn’t mean I don’t love him, does it?” (About her son Robbie)
You know what? Just watch it. You won’t regret it.
Peep Show: Oh. my. God. This show is awesome. It’s awkward, and full of inappropriate jokes, and hilarious. There are roommates, and drugs, and bumbling attempts at relationships. Later, there’s a half-marriage, a baby, and a guy who goes by “Superhands.” It ran from 2003 to 2010, and apparently they’re making two more seasons! RE-SULT! (“Coupling,” anyone?)
(Also includes gratuitous use of “twat” and “wanker”… I wish I could use either on a daily basis, but I’m not sure Dallas is quite ready for that.)
